People often use the phrase on thai time to reflect a relaxed pace of life that is independent from the flow of time. In other words, there’s no fixed deadlines or schedules or what have you. Instead, people live in the moment and things get done in their own time. While some Westerners look at this approach as lazy and lackadaisical, we prefer to view it as an Eastern approach to life that is in fact much healthier than the hurried, aggressive approach Westerners endure day in and day out. On Thai Time, as we define it, is a patient and forgiving outlook on life, a respect for nature, and a love for the moment that is absent in today’s hectic, capitalist lifestyles. Our appreciation of life and time reveals to us mysteries of life that otherwise, and much too often these days, go unnoticed and unseen. Join us as we take you on a journey through the Eastern side of life, on Thai Time.

On Thai Time’s initial purpose was to give you a taste of beautiful Thailand and a quick look at the history surrounding its people. The pages involving our backpacking journey through North and South thailand are dedicated to everyone involved with Intrepid’s North-South Thailand Small Group Adventures. It was my personal experience on an Intrepid backpacking trip through Thailand in the summer of 2002 that motivated me to learn about this beautiful country and its fascinating cultures, history, and peoples. With this first-hand experience we hope to bring some of the unique flavor of Thai history and culture to you.
